Sir Richard Branson’s $15 million mosquito island to be or not to be made public

Virgin Tycoon Richard Branson has been seeing tough days ever since he bought the Mosquito Island for $15 million.

And especially after the local law ruled that the exclusive eco-friendly villas that he had planned to construct would have to be made publicly open, he realizes that his problems have only started.

According to the local law, any beach that comes up to the high-water mark is Crown land, and hence is open to the public visits.

Designed to be a top notch resort with 20 villas and a beautiful beachfront restaurant, the Mosquito Island was purchased from Viscount Cobham for $277,680.

The building material will consist of carbon-neutral; wind, wave and sun would provide the power; there is also a butterfly park.
