Tiffany likely to be the Next Target of a Mega Deal

A lot of speculations are being generated on the acquisition & merger front after the Louis Vuitton-Bulgari deal and the successful acquisition of Bulgari by Louis Vuitton. Everyone is trying to guess which one is going to be the next major acquisition. After Bulgari becoming a part of the LVMH portfolio, Tiffany has become a logical target for PPR or Richemont. This would be another massive M&A deal if it happens.
The bankers with long experience will tell you that two big deals have never happened in a row. We are most likely to see relatively small buyouts and takeovers involving transactions of less than 500 million Euros. The luxury market is growing rapidly with the support of emerging markets. Companies attempting to expand quickly will be on the lookout for possible acquisitions if the valuations are attractive and the profile of the brand fits their long term plans.
Analysts and bankers believe that of the remaining listed luxury firms Burberry, Tiffany and Tod’s are the most attractive targets for possible acquisition. They expect the US jeweler to be the first to face a takeover bid from one of the large luxury houses. The market capitalization is estimated to be over $8 billion.

$2 million offered for 13 stained glass windows

St Paul’s Episcopal Church in Paterson, New Jersey, is being offered $2 million for 13 of its stained glass windows.
The windows’ auction value was estimated to fetch between $1,260,000 and $1,930,000 by Christie’s but an independent appraiser valued them at $2,515,000, saying that $1,900,000 to $2,300,000 would be a fair price. This also includes removal, restoration and window-replacement costs.
Even though the Church is not facing a financial crisis, they have been contemplating to use this money to fund an after-school program and a community development corporation that offers programs including a food pantry and men’s shelter.
12 of the windows were created by Louis Tiffany at the Diocese of Newark church, while the other was designed by artist John La Farge.
