Esteemed Perfume Company, Krigler has set up a shop in the Plaza Hotel in New York City offering not only perfumes but also candles, scrubs, lotions and other body care items. The perfumes come in old-fashioned glass bottles with simple golden tops. The brand’s most famous scent is Sparkling Diamond No. 22.

The original scent created in Monte Carlo in 1922 had a diamond in the bottle. Now the scent of champagne, strawberry, musk and coconut comes in a bottle that has Swarovski crystals bouncing around in the bottom. This perfume bottle is an ultimate creation. Other scents to try include the Dolce Tuberose which is full of summer’s heady deep florals. The Sparkling Diamond No.22 is for $170 if you buy the 3.4 eau de parfum.

Come December and you will get a chance to enter the magical world of cartoon characters, princesses and beasts to enliven the Christmas spirit!

Every Wednesday beginning 1st December “” a special show showcasing Disney cartoons like Mickey, Minnie and and Donald and fairytale stories like Beauty and Beast and Rapunzel will grace the Plaza Athenee Hotel premises with their show Magic Window.

After Baribie and her mates enthralled visitors to the Athenee suites on Avenue Montaigne in the heart of Paris “” its time for Minnie and her dancers, Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse to get up to showing their talents from the huge balcony in the luxury hotel while being accompanied by some startling visual and sound display! The faade of the hotel will be transformed into a castle every time a prince or princess steps out to greet visitors from the balcony!

Plaza Athenee has 146 rooms and 45 suites are sumptuously decorated in either Art Deco, Regency or Louis XVI style, expertly combining traditional opulence with up-to-the-minute modern touches, including a television that operates from inside the mirror in our suite.

They have done a pretty neat job considering all those shades of pink. The furniture and the rest of the accessories in the rooms have the exclusive Barbie insignia. Little Barbie fans from the ages three to sixteen will get special Barbie inspired gifts as well upon their arrival. But these two rooms are available only for a limited period. From August 6 through September 2, 2010 you can take your little girl to this Barbie wonderland. She will sure be very very happy.

One of historic dining places in New York, The Palm Court, at The Plaza has reopened after renovation which has cost some $6.5 million. Nearly 103 years old, The Plaza itself underwent complete renovation and its grandeur has been completely restored with the opening of The Palm Court. The Plaza is one of the most elite destinations in New York for more than hundred years and has an illustrious cultural past. Every past owner has invested great amount of money to maintain the luxurious hotel and this time entire renovation cost was whooping $450 million!

The Palm Court, one of the dining venues at The Plaza, is famous for stained-glass lit ambience which has been restored to past glory. The place will serve afternoon tea and lunch and an a la carte brunch menu on Sundays. The Chef Willis Loughead will cook his special farm-to-table dishes and the different Tea menus will include three-tier display scones, sandwiches and pastries, cookies, organic roast beef on a pretzel roll and New York cheesecake. There are special menus for children and venue can be booked for special evenings.

Just the name Plaza Hotel conjures up a world of luxury and comfort in our minds. Now, the name will also bring to mind a perfume! Yes, last month, this landmark New York City hotel situated on the enviable location of Central Park South, came up with its own eau de parfum, quite aptly named The Plaza. This scent has been created exclusively for the hotel by a fifth-generation New York City-based fragrance house, Krigler.

This launch is in line with the latest trend that has come up, where luxury hotels have started customizing their bath collections and creating special scents for their lobbies. Now they even have a signature body perfume.

 

We wanted to create a modern fragrance that appeals to the senses and characteristics that the Plaza Hotel embodies: grace, beauty, elegance and style, said Kristin Franzese, executive vice president of retail. She also said that the hotel also has its special linens and bath robes, which the guests take as souvenir.

After almost three years of extensive renovations at a staggering cost of US$400 million, New York’s most famous hotel finally reopens its doors.

The Plaza, which is now a National Historic landmark, first opened in 1907.

With 282 rooms and 182 private residences, each furnished in Louis XV French dƒcor style, the six-star Plaza Hotel at the crossroads between Fifth Avenue and Central Park continues to re-define luxury since its doors open to receive guests a century ago.
