Sept 26 auction to feature Hitler's furniture and sketches

A very fine piece of German furniture that belonged to Adolf Hitler is being touted to fetch thousands of dollars. This furniture includes a desk, a bookshelf, a table and chairs, manufactured by the former Bavarian court furniture maker, M Ballin.
Talking about the desk in detail, it has a leather writing surface in its centre and a drawer on each side. Each latch bears the name of the Ballin Company, while below the drawers are cupboards and in the left hand one there is an iron plate bolted to the base.
In all, the sale which will also feature 21 watercolors and sketches believed to be Hitler’s work is expect to generate a gross amount of $929,760.

Patek’s Le Tour du Monde de Magellan sells for $164,445
The Patek Philippe Le Tour du Monde de Magellan fetched a remarkable $164,445 at the Antiquorum’s weekend sale of Å”Important Collectors’ Wristwatches, Pocket Watches, Clocks and Horological Tools through bidding over live telephone, internet and even room bidding from bidders across the globe.
The intense bidding for this enamel dome clock took place over the phone with an Asian collector, and when it was finally sold at a record price, it was proved yet again that Patek Philipe manages to rule every auction.
This timepiece is a solar-powered and electro-mechanical, gilt-brass table clock with polychrome cloisonnƒ enamel panels by AMB, Ann-Marie Barbault.
What also made this timepiece such a rage is its history ” the fact that it was made in 1971 to celebrate the 450th anniversary of the death of Ferdinand Magellan.
Over 83% of the 466 lots offered on auction were sold, which included high bids for timepieces such as Rolex, Louis Moinet, Jacob & Co. etc. Quite expectedly, Patek Philippe timepieces fetched the highest bids with some even setting new records.‚

Designed by Sharifah Shah the Sound Lounge for Sony, is a super sleek, modish and, good-looking furniture piece¦no wait¦it is a coffee table and also a sound system, blended into one.
The sound lounge is available in aluminum and brushed metal or GUNMETAL with a hidden touchscreen music navigation system and the CD or MP3 format choice (when being used as a coffee table).
I kinda like it¦ even though this is not the first concept to have unified music systems with furniture pieces; Boom Bench and Surround Sofa have also launched similar items.

Singapore-based designer Zyane Tan has come up with a multifunctional unit called the ŔSony Fusion.
Apart from being a coffee table, it can be converted with just a click into a work station to reveal the LED outlined keyboard, screen and DVD drive on the side of the table.
The Sony Fusion has been crafted with matte black aluminum with a sleek chrome lining, supported by arched chrome legs.
Priced at $3000, the Sony Fusion will be available in three different colors ” blue, white and red.
