Georgia’s Most Lavish Foreclosed Mansion
Le Reve, the once $50 million estate for sale in Forsyth County, Georgia was in foreclosure. It has now had yet another price cut down to a new low of $16.75 million. Real estate agent Troy Stowe put it bluntly in a piece on WSOC-TV, saying “now, our new strategy is, the house needs to go.” The new listing trumpets the fact that the home has been reduced by $32 million as well as indicating that the home is now bank owned.
La Reve was the home of Hubert and Norma Humphrey who designed their lavish seven-bedroom home with a private bowling alley, its own golf course, a massage room and a huge movie theater that is a replica of Atlanta’s Fox Theatre. There is also a train room that is a replica of the old Central Georgia Railroad from Atlanta to Macon to Savannah that Hubert Humphrey worked on for 17 years as a train conductor. This incredible edifice has 82 rooms, two elevators and 62 televisions. The grounds include a heated swimming pool, pool house, spa, private playground, stables, tennis court, formal gardens and a guest house.

East 80th Street, Luxury Estate
The words “indoor waterfall” immediately brought my attention to this townhouse at 170th East 80 Street in Manhattan. After all, those aren’t words you hear too often in New York real estate. This 19 century townhouse has been reinvented over the last three years into a modern mansion by Kate Shin, president of WEmi:t LLC.
The one-of-a-kind 20-foot wide and 22-foot high indoor cascading waterfall, pond and sculpture garden add a calming note to the home which also has an art gallery on the first floor that can be put to private or commercial use. The 16 1/2 foot tall tree deck with 200 miniature hand-made Baccarat crystal bottles of Louis XIII finished with 24 carat gold cost more than $55,000.
Baccarat’s Zenith Midnight Chandelier has been placed at the top of the tree and the matching denim material has been used very innovatively to give the tree a very trendy-chic look. Baccarat is collaborating with the hotel to offer a series of exclusive offers at Sofitel London St. James. So SPA by Sofitel, offers for $4,586 the ultimate spa package in which guests receive a unique piece of jewelry from Baccarat, the Psychedelic Crystal necklace, as well as a Zenith Signature treatment with Baccarat.

Grand Park Orchard Hotel Singapore underwent a $62 million makeover
One of the well-known hotels across the globe, the Park Hotel Orchard in Singapore has undergone a complete makeover, not just the way it looks but also has a new name. The hotel underwent a $62 million renovation and will now be known as Grand Park Orchard Hotel at Singapore. The revamp has been done keeping in mind the fashion lovers in mind as the rooms will adorn “fashion spread inspired wall murals”. The hotel with 308 rooms will also feature an outdoor pool, two bars, a restaurant called Open House, a spa and a business centre. Adding to your luxurious stay there will also be be a four storey feet retail area spanning over 83,000 square feet called ‘Knightsbridge’, housing several flagship brand stores.

Renowned restaurateur and event impresario, Barton G. Weiss has transformed the late Gianni Versace’s rococo, beachfront villa in the hub of South Beach, Miami into a 10-room hotel called The Villa by Barton G.

Ritz Carlton now in Los Angeles
The Ritz Carlton hotel has made its debut in Los Angeles – Perched on the upper floors of the 54-story tower that it shares with sister hotel the JW Marriott Los Angeles – at the giant L.A. Live entertainment complex downtown on Friday.
According to General Manager Javier Cano, The Ritz-Carlton, Los Angeles is now a part of L.A. LIVE and the renaissance of Downtown Los Angeles and will provide another dimension to this exciting and active area, which is now a true destination for travelers and local residents.
According to Ritz-Carlton spokeswoman Vivian Deuschl, the entire hotel was scheduled to open April 15, but Deuschl said guests were so excited about staying at the new spot that 20 rooms were being opened early.
