Herm¨s to debut full home range

The French luxe brand Herm¨s unveils its first furniture range during the Salone del Mobile, running April 12-17.

Artistic director Pierre-Alexis Dumas has teamed up with designers including Enzo Mari, Denis Montel, and Antonio Citterio to create furnishings, furniture and accessories that will be available in select Herm¨s stores this fall.

In addition, as part of a new partnership with Italian textile manufacturer Dedar, the house will present a range of home fabrics wallpaper and carpets.

Acerbis, an Italian design firm is is constantly on the verge of merging home entertainment and furniture into one with its whimsical range of hi-tech furniture. This time, it has introduced its New Concept collection at Salone Del Mobile 2009, which also includes the Lyneus Lodovico audio-video cabinet. The another one which has been included in the collection is the NC Base Superschermo 100. You can enjoy an LCD and a projection screen experience all in one.‚  The NC Base Superschermo 100 cabinet conceals a projection screen in its belly to turn your living room into a media room just like that. It has an automated screen which boasts an available projection width of about 2 meters for 16:9 format with high efficiency and luminosity features compatible with most of the projectors on the market.

The company that specializes in contemporary TV cabinets and media centers, Acerbis International has earlier shown us the stylish New Concepts contemporary wall unit and the Tuttuno cabinet.‚  The company has come up with the new Lyneus collection at the Salone del Mobile 2009. The Lyneus Lodovico Acerbis is a collection of sideboards and vertical cabinets, independent or to be combined. It is characterized by rounded shapes underlined by a curvilinear chromed-brass profile.

Armani/Casa came up with an exclusive, new line of furnishing fabrics as well as numbered and signed limited editions at the Salone del Mobile (International Furniture Exhibition, April 22-27, 2009) in Milan this year The highlights of the brand included a new 29,000 euro ($38,500) gold-plated desk. It is a Giorgio Armani desk and has been dipped in 24-karat gold. As per the furniture manufacturers of Italy, the demand for home collections has started to recover in March after a six-month slump.

Guus Leeuwen's radiators "Domestic Animals" launched

Dutch designer Guus Van Leeuwen has come up with an amazing radiator design series “Domestic Animals” which has made its debut at this year’s Salone Del Mobile exhibition in Milan. The Guus Van Leeuwen radiators are covered with the skin of the animal they represent. The specialty of the series is that every “Domestic Animal” is crafted out of a single ongoing steel tube that starts and ends at the tail. This can’t be bended in one time, so every animal is built from 40 to 60 pieces.
