Russian luxury SUV purveyor Dartz has teamed up with TopCar to design a one-off Bentley dubbed CA$H.CAMO Bentley Continental GT. This luxury supercar will be unveiled at the upcoming Top Marques Monaco Show.
The most exciting aspect of the car is that it comes covered in Kevlar vinyl, an exclusive wrap that feels like the surface of a banknote, merging the camouflage color with an image of a “š¬500 banknote.
The package also includes a TopCar Bullet body kit and a new set of wheels. What’s more, the buyer of the CA$H CAMO will also be given a bottle of RussoBaltique vodka as a gift by Dartz.a
Russian billionaire Alexander Lebedev buys UK’s ‘The Independent’
The Independent and Independent on Sunday newspapers have been bought by Russian billionaire, Alexander Lebedev for $1.49 from Irish company Independent News & Media (INM).
Independent News, which publishes newspapers in Ireland, New Zealand and South Africa, had been seriously considering offloading both the daily Independent and its Sunday edition because of an operating loss of more than $16 million for 2009.
The deal that had been under discussion for many months was finally signed on the condition that INM will pay Mr Lebedev’s Independent Print Limited (IPL) $12.4 over the next 10 months.
According to Mr. Lebedev, he is a supporter of in-depth investigative reporting and campaigns which promote transparency and seek to fight international corruption¦these are things the Independent has always done well and will hopefully continue to do so.
The former KGB agent, Lebedev also acquired The Evening Standard of London last year.
Emperor Alexander III Chargers expected to fetch $400,000-600,000
Christie’s auction of Russian Art on April 23rd will feature a rare Parcel-Gilt Silver and Enamel Imperial Presentation Charger that is expected to fetch anything between $400,000-600,000.
During the reigns of Emperors Alexander II, Alexander III and Nicholas II, large chargers or bread and salt dishes made with silver and enamel used to be crafted by the leading silversmiths and jewelers of Moscow and St. Petersburg, to be offered on coronation day. Purchased by a diplomat in Europe in the early 1930s, the charger comes with the Imperial warrant, St. Petersburg, 1882.
According to Mark Moehrke, Director of Russian Works of Art at Christie’s, Imperial presentation chargers rarely appears on the auction market and they see it as their privilege to offer a work of such historical importance.
The auction will also include two handled porcelain vase, by the Imperial Porcelain Factory, St. Petersburg dated 1843 (from the Nicholas I period) that is expected to sell for $700,000-$900,000, and a wide selection of cloisonnƒ enamels and more than 60 works by Faberge.
