The Charles Oudin Full Amazone Curvex Women’s Watch

The dazzle factor is taken too seriously, making the bedazzled object a bit awkward. That seems to be the case with the Full Amazone Curvex watch for women by the Paris-based brand Charles Oudin. The watch features 26 carats of precious stones, which include rubies and emeralds set into floral motif amidst a sea of diamonds. The watch comes enclosed in an 18-carat white gold case and you can opt between a Swiss ETA quartz or Swiss Frederic Piguet automatic movement.
DeLaneau’s Magic Haute Joaillerie

May be it’s the craftmanship, may be some mystical tech or may be magic, DeLaneau has never failed to impress us. Take for instance the Magic Haute Joaillerie. A secret watch and a feat of jewellery engineering, the USP of this watch are not only its interesting design but also the clever use of precious stones. Baguette-cut diamonds and rubies are invisibly set in a spiral. The queer quotient of the watch is the dome that hides inside the watch.
Richard Mille RM 026 Watch For Women

High-tech themed watch maker Richard Mille produces women’s jewelry watches using the same watch case styles. While the two manners of watches are seemingly very different, the brand is able to make it work. For 2011, Richard Mille’s new ultra high-end women’s watch is the RM 026, otherwise known as the “snakes in a mother f’in half million dollar watch.”
The idea behind the piece is that the skeletonized tourbillon movement should look like two snakes are moving around in it. The illusion works pretty well. Thankfully the snakes are not too life-like being made out of precious stones (otherwise that might be quite creepy). One snake is done in mostly rubies, while the other in mostly emeralds. Look closely and you’ll see scales engraved into the 18k white gold of the snake bodies. On the snakes, as the hour indicators, and all over the case are diamonds. A really neat feature is that sapphire caseback displays a solid onyx place.
The new RM 026 movement has the time, a tourbillon, a second’s indicator on the back of the watch, and a power reserve indicator on the dial. The tonneau shaped watch case is 39.70mm wide and 45mm tall. Richard Mille will offer the RM 026 in titanium, 18k red gold, or 18k white gold.
Designer Alp Sagnak turns Bones into Bracelet

One would never have thought that he would see jewellery made of bones in this day and age. It means they were all the rage in the prehistoric period when our ancestors hadn’t really figured out how to work with the metals that are all the rage now. But designer Alp Sagnak wishes to go back to the past and as a result has created the Bone Bracelet.
Now I think it is a little creepy to be wearing things made of bones, but then again, there are some people who might actually find the idea pretty attractive. Plus it can definitely be a conversation starter. This bracelet is actually an oversized cuff that uses opossum bones and is covered with oxidized silver along with 24 carat gold, rubies and diamonds. Designers these days really like to experiment with different materials.

Created by Italian architect and designer Alessandro Mendini, the 2.3 m high‚ column is a collection of precious stones and gems – which includes a variety of pearls, emeralds, sapphires, mandarin garnets, moonstones, diamond paving, chalcedonies and rubies -that can no longer be used in a classical manner as they have been pierced, dismounted, engraved and set in resin ” all of which took over 18 months to complete.
According to the press release, these incredible gems, a true lapidary’s handbook, were classified by categories before being encapsulated into crystal cylinders subsequently incorporated vertically within pink-gold flutes¦the end process involved layering more than 7 blocks around a central axis and setting the stones into epoxy resin after 80 hours of polymerization.
