The Charles Oudin Full Amazone Curvex Women’s Watch

The dazzle factor is taken too seriously, making the bedazzled object a bit awkward. That seems to be the case with the Full Amazone Curvex watch for women by the Paris-based brand Charles Oudin. The watch features 26 carats of precious stones, which include rubies and emeralds set into floral motif amidst a sea of diamonds. The watch comes enclosed in an 18-carat white gold case and you can opt between a Swiss ETA quartz or Swiss Frederic Piguet automatic movement.
DeLaneau’s Magic Haute Joaillerie

May be it’s the craftmanship, may be some mystical tech or may be magic, DeLaneau has never failed to impress us. Take for instance the Magic Haute Joaillerie. A secret watch and a feat of jewellery engineering, the USP of this watch are not only its interesting design but also the clever use of precious stones. Baguette-cut diamonds and rubies are invisibly set in a spiral. The queer quotient of the watch is the dome that hides inside the watch.

Created by Italian architect and designer Alessandro Mendini, the 2.3 m high‚ column is a collection of precious stones and gems – which includes a variety of pearls, emeralds, sapphires, mandarin garnets, moonstones, diamond paving, chalcedonies and rubies -that can no longer be used in a classical manner as they have been pierced, dismounted, engraved and set in resin ” all of which took over 18 months to complete.
According to the press release, these incredible gems, a true lapidary’s handbook, were classified by categories before being encapsulated into crystal cylinders subsequently incorporated vertically within pink-gold flutes¦the end process involved layering more than 7 blocks around a central axis and setting the stones into epoxy resin after 80 hours of polymerization.
The development and production of the “precious column” envisioned by Mendini have been assigned to Cartier Joaillerie.
