Hacienda Santa Ines is an unusual combination of high end resort/sanctuary and working ranch. Set on 300 acres of farmland, it is hidden in the Tres Rios Mountains that loom 6,000 feet high over Cartago, Costa Rica’s old capital city. The Hacienda is new, as it just opened for business in February.
iPad and iPod docks as well as wi-fi, allow the guests to remain connected to the outside world, if they want to. The theater room has a Blu-Ray library, and the game room offers pool, table tennis, and more. The spa’s two masseuses specialize in four-handed treatments. The fully-equipped gym has mountain and valley views with state-of-the-art equipment. Cigars can be smoked in the paneled cigar room. The view from the indoor pool and Jacuzzi is of gardens and mountains.
The chef makes good use of the farm’s fresh eggs and vast organic kitchen garden and greenhouse. Rustic lunches are served in the woods, by the lagoon, or at a variety of barbecue spots dotted throughout the ranch. Modern stables house Fresian horses, ideally suited for gentle walks or energetic adventures. A fleet of ATVs are at guests’ disposal, perfect for traveling through the estate’s private lands and its three micro-climates. There is an elaborate 100,000-square-foot paint-ball field.
Hacienda Santa Ins is a unique locale for a family gathering, reunion, corporate retreat, or small wedding. Costa Rica’s Pacific beaches are 20 minutes away from the Hacienda’s helipad. And the Hacienda is ideally located for car or helicopter excursions to San Jose, the capital, as well as rain forests, waterfalls and volcanoes, in Costa Rica’s interior. Pricing ranges from $12,000 to $18,500 per day. There is an added price for children and other guests, depending on the ages, ranging from $200 to $500 per day.

PNK Group has announced it will hold the grand opening of BLVD. Hotel + Spa on February 28th, 2011 at 10730 Ventura Bl. in Studio City, California. The hotel will have 58 rooms including 30 suites, many of them with garden patios and balconies, as well as a day spa.
PNK Group, which already owns other hotel properties, took on a new direction with BLVD. The name BLVD came from Los Angeles’ fabled boulevards and will serve visitors to Universal Studios Hollywood, the Hollywood Bowl and John Anson Ford Theatre and studios and production facilities nearby. The facade is done in warm earth tones in a subdued Southwestern style. At night, blue lighting bathes the building in a modern glow. Sat Garg of Akar Studios worked on BLVD’s interior design. The ground floor is both a lobby and a lounge with views to the BLVD Bar and Lounge and wall murals depicting a stylized version of the Los Angeles skyline. There will also be a small coffee bar, deli and upscale boutique. The hotel has an indoor pool, gym, and spa provide guests. Room has complimentary WiFi and some have rain showers, in-room lounges, patios and balconies. Like the bar’s signature cocktails, a number of the suites bear the names of Los Angeles’ legendary boulevards including Sunset, Wilshire, Robertson, Santa Monica, and Ventura.
The BLVD Bar and Lounge promises to be a neighborhood as well as guest attraction, offering the occasional live DJ.

“The Hotel, Remixed,” MODO has a ‘Bauhaus loft design’ with high ceilings, exposed beams and polished concrete walls. The hotel has the standard chic amenities including free Wi-Fi, iPod docks, large flat-screen TVs and indie music on demand. What makes the concept intriguing is that the music is the unifying theme of the brand.The properties will offer thousands of tracks from independent artists worldwide in guestrooms and in the restaurant-lounge called RPM. The music will be available in vinyl, CD and MP3 formats through headphones and a sound system. You can also visit MODO Radio on the brand’s website for free music downloads.
The hotels will house 100 or more rooms with a restaurant-lounge,courtyard, pool, meeting and event space, library, retail shop and gym. The music theme can be seen in the rendering for the lobby, shown above, where even the pendant lights are meant to evoke musical instruments with their strong vertical lines. In the U.S., the rooms will cost around $90 “” $150 a night with the exception of some of the larger major markets.

The Hotel Des Artistes, 1 West 67th in New York City. The building is located off Central Park West and designed by George Mort Pollard in a Neo-Gothic-style building in 1916. The nine-room duplex opens to a large foyer and a great room with a wall of double height leaded glass windows. The room is framed by a double height, oak paneled 2,500 volume library and the floor plan shows the layout which includes a media room with a wine cave on one side balanced by a formal dining room and kitchen on the other. Upstairs is given over to bedrooms with a master suite in a private wing that has an ample dressing room. Three other bedrooms plus a small office are located on the other side. Building amenities include a La Palestra Health Club, pool, squash court and roof terrace and there is a concierge and an elevator attendant. The apartment is listed at $6.95 million through Sotheby’s.

Do you have a hidden desire to own a Victorian-era sea fort ever in your life? Well! Then here’s your grab. A Victorian-era sea fort is up for sale in Britain for a whopping US $8.1 million. Named No Man Land’ fort, this is situated 1 mile off the coast of Portsmouth.
This fort which is currently being served as a luxury hotel was originally build with a purpose to house 80 sailors to ward off an attack from the French navy. It features 21 lavish themed rooms, two helipads and heated indoor swimming pool. Build between 1861 and 1880; this fort has been crafted largely of granite. This 200 feet high fort has its own electricity generators and a borehole sunk into the seabed takes care of the water supply.

The Ritz Carlton hotel has made its debut in Los Angeles – Perched on the upper floors of the 54-story tower that it shares with sister hotel the JW Marriott Los Angeles – at the giant L.A. Live entertainment complex downtown on Friday.
According to General Manager Javier Cano, The Ritz-Carlton, Los Angeles is now a part of L.A. LIVE and the renaissance of Downtown Los Angeles and will provide another dimension to this exciting and active area, which is now a true destination for travelers and local residents.
According to Ritz-Carlton spokeswoman Vivian Deuschl, the entire hotel was scheduled to open April 15, but Deuschl said guests were so excited about staying at the new spot that 20 rooms were being opened early.
The specifications of the hotel are as follows:
