Peter Jackson Upgrades to Top End Gulfstream G550

Sir Peter Jackson has now bought a very high end private jet to match that status. It has cost him New Zealand $68 million. It is a Gulfstream G550 which is considered the cr¨me de la cr¨me of private jets and will allow Jackson and his friends and associates to fly directly from New Zealand to Los Angeles.
Jackson earlier had a Gulfstream IV which had to stop for refueling at Samoa or Hawaii, on the same route because of its shorter range. His new jet will be parked in Melbourne, three hours away. The Wellington airport does not have a permanent hangar to protect the aircraft from the salty air during its spells on the ground. The flying club has been shunted out of the airport to make way for a permanent hangar.
An intercontinental G550 typically accommodates between 12 and 16 passengers in leather seats and divans arranged in several distinct living areas. These seats can normally be converted to beds for up to six passengers for an overnight flight.
