A flight simulator akin to Boeing 747

The flight deck boasts a $30,000 simulator which recreates every switch and sound on a Boeing 747. He has spent eight years and thousands of hours working to make the simulator as lifelike as possible. It must have been hard and frustrating but this man had all the patience and obsession needed. John Davis quotes, “I had to study photographs of a real Boeing 747-400 cockpit on aviation websites to make sure the design was correct. The software has all the landscapes of the world, from the Alps to the skylines of London and New York “” and security procedures mean you can no longer visit the flight deck of a real plane.”
Sitting in his leather flight chair he lifts the undercarriage, switches to automatic pilot and settles back to enjoy the ride. He can even make announcements to his imaginary passengers. John, who holds a pilot’s licence to fly gliders, has now quit his job as a graphic designer to run a flight simulation business from his two-bedroomed terraced house in Tile Hill, Coventry.
Jaguar XF gets pimped with the B&W audio system

Jaguar’s new XF sedan is now provided with an all new system by Bowers and Wilkins (B&W). Jaguar, Bowers and Wilkins showed an advanced prototype of the 2008 XF model at a press conference in New York City. The Bowers and Wilkins worked closely with Jaguar in a three-year intensive programme before the new car was conceived, so the audio suppliers didn’t have to face the catastrophe to adjust and put up with the leftover spaces in the car. The engineers of B&W were provided with enough space to place their 14 speakers in acoustically optimized locations. The mind-blowing innovations of B&W include Aluminum dome tweeters, 9 Kevlar mind/bass drivers and one subwoofer. Each tweeter, mind/bass driver and subwoofer is powered by it’s own amplifier and the system also makes use of digital signal processing to monitor the vehicle’s interior ambient noise levels and amends it’s sound quality to reimburse for changing road conditions.

Bernstein Floating Table Fosters Conversation

New York-based architect Robert Bernstein’s clientele is full of party-goers who are born chatters and thus cannot afford to stay tight-lipped. This drives their interest in having a pool of people who can carry on discussions rather than counted dumb figures sitting on an installed rectangular table.
Now question arrives, how to accommodate endless participators’ or visitors in a single-go of discussion. Either divide it into two-groups (is not acceptable) or get home the lately designed table that fosters conversation.
The inlets and peninsulas of this undulating table would allow people to sit in and around the curves, enabling them to feel body-language of the person on the other side of the table. The highlighting factor of the table is that it doesn’t offer any dominant place at the table and the credit for it goes to its democratic nature.
The shape of the table was hand-drawn and won the appreciation and bagged the award among the top 100 sketches. The fabric used to design this table includes 3/16″³-thick painted steel (pieced, welded and painted in Soho loft). With a capacity to accommodate 20 people, this can be perched from the ceiling and attached to the planked floors through with stainless steel cables. According to Bernstein, the cables were placed in replacement of arms.
