The most expensive property in Rome as well as one of the most expensive in Europe is being offered for $40 million by the family of Iris Origo. She was the daughter of an American diplomat and an Anglo-Irish peer and was married to an Italian aristocrat, Antonio Origo. She is well-known for the book ‘War in the Val’D'Orcia, an Italian War Diary’ which contains her diary entries of her experiences from 1943-1944. The Palazzo Orsini was bought during the war where the couple looked after refugee children and local families displaced by the fighting, as well as escaped POWs and Allied airmen who were trying to make their way through German lines. It is 11,000 square foot palace that includes frescoed staterooms, a ballroom, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a library, a dining room, a terrace, a separate penthouse and cellars.
It also features garden with fountains and orange trees and is built on top of the still-standing stone and marble shell of the 1st century BC Theatre of Marcellus, which resembles a mini Colosseum. The theatre, which could seat 20,000 people, was begun by Julius Caesar but it was completed in 11BC by the emperor Augustus. The Orsini family acquired it in the 18th century.
Maximum Rolls Royce sold in China
The tag of being the world’s second largest luxury market on China has been justified as it is the same country in which maximum amount of Rolls Royce is being sold. It is an attempt to satiate the country’s hunger to reign as the supreme power. China is being officially announced as the country that has bought the most Roll Royce in 2011. This move has toppled U.S. from its number one position for the first time. We all know the fact that Rolls-Royce is renowned for building luxury cars for the rich and famous. The leading auto brand has already announced the Year of Dragon Rolls Roycemodel. This latest shift as asserted that China is in top gear to outshine as the country that strives on everything that is the most expensive and luxurious. Though official numbers are not yet out, it is reported that as of June of 2011, Asia Pacific led the world in Rolls sales growth. While sales in North American grew 40%, sales in Asia/Pac grew 170%.

Most expensive apartment in Manhattan goes for $88 million

In the year 2008, he got hold of Donald Trump’s 33,000 sq ft Maison L’Amitie for $95 million. This purchase knocks off the record $53million that J. Christopher Flowers paid for the Harkness Mansion in 2006.The property has been sold by Citigroup CEO Sandy Weill and his wife Joan, who paid $42.4million for the property. The sale proceeds will go for charity.

This The famous hotel was built in 1907 and an interesting historic appeal attached to its name.
