The first island on The World Dubai

Nakheel, the exclusive resort, which could cost members up to $10,890 a year to join, is in a way looking forward to capitalize on the Dubai development’s potential as a tourism destination. Located around 30 minutes by water taxi from the Dubai shoreline, the island has a total area of 39,000 sq m, 17,000 sq m of which will be used to build the facilities and amenities. A restaurant for up to 100 diners, 50 beach loungers along the coast, eight cabanas and eight luxury log-cabin style changing rooms with showers, a lounge area and entertainment facilities will be included in the resort.
The perfect place for conducting functions, launches and weddings with a 24 sq m circular area for up to 500 people is the island. The island will also be fully licensed to serve alcoholic beverages. The water around the island can accommodate up to 40 medium-sized yachts off its coast and its pontoon can handle yachts of up to 80 foot in length.
Indian entrepreneur Wakil Admed Azmi, owned luxury resort, will be the first attraction on The World to open to the public after Dubai’s property crash dealt a blow to the development. The island of Lebanon and the construction work has hit $16.3 million. Nakheel plans to offer tourists day and dinner cruises around The World as it moves to reposition the project as a tourism destination. The island also has plans to create 500 artificial reefs around Dubai in an effort to regenerate marine life around the emirate’s coastline, and aid the local fishing industry.
Baan Taling Ngam Resort & Spa in Koh Samui, Thailand

The InterContinental Hotels Group are still expanding and have recently put in place an agreement in Thailand with Elite Villa Co., Ltd, to launch the Inter Continental Resort brand in Koh Samui, Thailand. Under the agreement the Baan Taling Ngam Resort & Spa, the island’s very first luxury resort will come under the management of IHG.
Koh Samui which is barely an hour away from the Thai capital Bangkok is a popular destination that offers visitors the idyllic island life. The resort with 300 meters of its own beach frontage is spread amidst coconut plantations and is the perfect luxury getaway. It offers panoramic view of the National Marine Park and the neighboring “Five Islands’. The resort will be shut down temporarily for an extensive $15 million renovation.
IHG has been focusing on the resort segment and this is definitely valuable addition to their portfolio. Taling Ngam Resort is Koh Samui’s first luxury resort and today remains one of the top resorts in the island. It will be IHG’s second resort in Thailand, joining InterContinental Hua Hin Resort, which opened in 2009. InterContinental Hotels & Resorts has presence in more than 60 countries.
Trump at Cap Cana – a $2 billion luxury project

Just recently, Donald Trump partnered with Cap Cana SA to create a luxury resort on the eastern tip of the Dominican Republic that was explored by Columbus on his first voyage in 1492.
The project named Trump at Cap Cana is estimated to cost $2 billion, and the features will include a condominium hotel, golf course, golf villas, beach club and 68 luxury homes.
Super luxurious resort to be built in Montenegro
The country of Montenegro, that became recently independent, is all set to build itself as a luxury destination.

They have planned to design 3 landmark designs at a height of 100 meters above sea level. The luxury resort would boast of varied entertainment, leisure, spa and wellness amenities.
