Maximum Rolls Royce sold in China

The tag of being the world’s second largest luxury market on China has been justified as it is the same country in which maximum amount of Rolls Royce is being sold. It is an attempt to satiate the country’s hunger to reign as the supreme power. China is being officially announced as the country that has bought the most Roll Royce in 2011. This move has toppled U.S. from its number one position for the first time. We all know the fact that Rolls-Royce is renowned for building luxury cars for the rich and famous. The leading auto brand has already announced the Year of Dragon Rolls Roycemodel. This latest shift as asserted that China is in top gear to outshine as the country that strives on everything that is the most expensive and luxurious. Though official numbers are not yet out, it is reported that as of June of 2011, Asia Pacific led the world in Rolls sales growth. While sales in North American grew 40%, sales in Asia/Pac grew 170%.

China also holds the distinction of being the fastest growing luxury market. All the global brands are focusing on China in order to maximize their share of the market. To facilitate this increasing business activity Shanghai Mart has positioned itself as a trade platform that connects the world’s vendors with local buyers. It could be a trade seminar with 20 participants or a trade fair with 20,000 visitors, the Mart handles it equally well. The venue caters for three key industries “” apparel and textiles, gifts and home decor, and building materials.

First International Luxury Club in China

China is the main contributor of growth for the luxury brands. Hence all important global brands are focusing on China to further boost their sales. The authorities in China are also doing their bit to facilitate the growth and make it easier for the global companies to access the markets in China.

The first international luxury club was officially set up recently in Tianjin. It is a port city in northern China which is growing in importance rapidly for business in diverse sectors. The authorities are hoping that this initiative will further enhance the high end business environment of the city. Beijing of course is on way to developing as a fashion centre with increased activity being witnessed by fashion houses from across the world.

Tianjin is working towards growing in importance on the map of the luxury market. The new club is an important and decisive step in that direction. The club will hold its first special sale from Jan. 23 to Jan. 28, and more than 100 top-class international brands, including Cartier and Dior, will debut on the occasion.

Neiman Marcus Inc. CEO, Burt Tansky Planning Retirement

One of the popular names in the luxury industry, Burt Tanksy, who is currently serving in the capacity as that of CEO of Neiman Marcus Inc., is now planning to retire from the corporate world after 49 years of a glorious career path. Mr. Tansky, now age 72, has been associated with Neiman Marcus; a Dallas based Luxury Company for the last 21 years of his career.

Burt Tansky’s reign as the CEO of Neiman Marcus propelled him to the status of a Legend and he became incredibly famous and a well respected authority in the luxury market. However, the few years of his term at Neiman, turned out to be quite difficult for the 72 year old CEO, as he gave his best to keep the company from biting the dust during one of the worst global recessions of the modern times. This economic downturn witnessed a great slump in the luxury market and even led to a net loss of $1 billion for Neiman Marcus. The retirement of Mr. Tansky from the post of CEO will commence on October 6th, 2010 and the position will be given over to Karen Katz.
