"Breakfast in the Desert" has integrated solar panels
The latest commissioned piece from Louis Vuitton’s is the Å”Breakfast in the Desert trunk. It allows complete entertainment on the move. According to LV’s Patrick-Louis Vuitton, the Chinese client wanted to be able to watch television and offer coffee to his friends wherever he traveled in the world, including the remotest desert. The “Breakfast in the Desert” trunk features two solar panels linked to a battery for the flat-screen TV and DVD player, two-way radio, tuner and coffee machine.‚ It took LV a year and tens of thousands of dollars to complete this red trunk in Damier canvas.

The brand is all set to win accolades for making a foray into technical watch-making with the company’s new watch collection that are created completely in-house, from conception to completion at its La Chaux de Fonds factory in Switzerland. From its new collection the Tambour Mysterieuse is the most high-end timepiece. It has a round dial and is composed of a mechanism that is encapsulated by two sapphire crystal discs, allowing the watch itself to float within the bezel framing it. There are customized collections including monogramming the second hand with the wearer’s initials, selecting gemstones to place on the platinum, white, yellow or red gold case and a choice of leather straps. These watches come in a miniature Vuitton trunk and takes about a year to craft. They justify their price tag of $265,000.

Car company Infiniti partners with Louis Vuitton in their next venture; the new concept car which will make its debut appearance at the Geneva Motor Show next month will come with a custom Louis Vuitton luggage set. Louis Vuitton has been known over the years for designing custom leggie for vehicles and it is now the time for LV to work its magic on Infiniti. The new car and the collaboration with LV is in celebration to mark the 20th year anniversary of Infiniti.
Infiniti design boss, Shiro Nakamura has already been presented with a piece from the Louis Vuitton luggage set at an LV store in Roppongi, Tokyo.
Stephen Sprouse Lives Again Thanks To LV
The lovers of punk would know what the name Stephen Sprouse meant in the ’80s and the ’90s. Well, the inventive and enigmatic fashion designer gave the world a wonderful mix of graffiti and punk aesthetic, which by the way was a huge rage a decade ago.
So, now Louis Vuitton is all set to honour Sprouse, who dies in 2004, by showcasing a special designer’s collection (designed by Sprouse himself) at their SoHo store in New York. We hear that the store will exhibit the famous Stephen Sprouse graffiti skateboard which will be accompanied by a monogram hard case skateboard trunk and Stephen Sprouse Roses T-shirt.
About the price tags. Well, put $8,250 for one graffiti skateboard while the Tee (hurry, there are only 70 of them) shall come For $250 each.
