In what is being called an effort to develop an ultra-light bicycle, Santa Cruz has unveiled the Carbon Fiber Nomad-c.
This new 160 mm travel carbon framed Nomad boasts of an updated suspension, aluminum in place of carbon fiber (that has brought down the weight to just 6.1 pounds) and a RockShox Monarch 3.3 shock. Being offered in any color you want (I particularly like white with black decals or a matte carbon color with gold pinstripey decals) with prices starting at $2499.

A Gold Porsche 997 GT2′ featuring black wheels with a dark gold exterior and black leather interior is being auctioned in Dubai.‚
The 997 GT2 had a twin turbocharged 3.6 litre 6-cylinder engine based on 997 Turbo but Porsche achieved power increase through completely newly designed expansion intake manifold in which the distributor pipe is longer than in Turbo and the intake manifolds are shorter. A full titanium silencer is used also in GT2. With a curb weight of 1,440‚ kg (3,200‚ lb), the only transmission choice offered by the Porsche 997 GT2 is a 6-speed manual gearbox.‚

Altitude wins contract to remodel the Boeing 747-8 aircraft
Air New Zealand’s specialist in aircraft interiors, Altitude has won a contract to design customised drinks cabinets, stowage units and closets for the first class cabins of the Boeing 747-8 aircraft, which is to be flown to an unidentified Asian-based customer next year.‚
According to Altitude general manager Michael Pervan, with this deal, Altitude becomes the first southern hemisphere aircraft interiors business to become European approved to design and certify aircraft interiors, opening up the other big aircraft manufacturing market place.‚
The entire customization process is said to cost an estimated $35 million.
Shanghai Expo 2010 feature Pandathemed gold bars!
10 pandathemed gold bars ” carrying the portrait of 10 pandas that came to Shanghai from Sichuan Province – for the 2010 World Expo went on sale on 21st January.
The original portrait priced at $14,650, is the work of Designer Wang Shenyong who lived a whole week with the pandas at the Wolong center in Sichuan Province before he could understand the pandas’ trademark characteristics. In the end he pulled it off pretty well by carving the bars with a colorful portrait of one of the pandas eating bamboo, playing along a river or climbing on trees.
The sale also features silver bars, coins and a miniature sheet of stamps with the pandas on them.
