One of the much publicized and highly coveted soldiers of the Japanese era, was the Samurai, a man of various skills, an iron-clad sense of loyalty and a true warrior in every sense of the word. From the Hollywood movie, The Last Samurai to Midways Games Mortal Kombat video game series, the Samurai has always been depicted as one of the greatest warriors of all times.

Now, courtesy of Bonhams auction house, even you can be a proud owner of an authentic Japanese body armor, complete with a wear on beard, as well as a dragon. The sale of the Japanese armor is part of Bonhams auction of over 480 items of fine Japanese art and is slated to take place on May 11th, 2010. This incredible piece of history, labeled as Lot 68 is estimated to fetch a figure between $154,000 to $231,000 dates back to the 18th to 19th century, during the Edo Period. The armor is said to have been in the possession of an aristocratic Japanese family, the Hotta clan, with links to a Shogun.
