Jaguar XF Sportbrake

Jaguar XF Sportbrake

Jaguar launched official photos of the Jaguar XF Sportbrake ahead of the car’s debut at the 2012 Geneva Auto Show. The new Jaguar XF Sportbrake is a large estate designed to take on the likes of the BMW 5 Series touring among wealthy families, with the Indian-owned automaker describing the car as“the most versatile Jaguar ever created.”

The model is loosely based on the Jaguar XF, the rear is completely new, allowing the brand to work in a total volume of 1,675 liters and some innovative new features such as ground lights which illuminate when the trunk is open and a soft-close mechanism, which means it can’t be slammed.

Technical specifications and pricing will be released closer to the European launch date, which is set for the third quarter of 2012. The Sportbrake will get a range of diesel engines in 2.2-liter four-cylinder and 3.0-liter six-cylinder variants. They will be linked to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Mercedes-Benz Vito gets a jet-inspired interior

Mercedes-Benz Vito gets a jet-inspired interior

The Mercedes-Benz Vito is no more to be tagged as a dull carrier-passenger van it has forever been known to be, one you probably wouldn’t want parked in your car-park alongside your expensive Jaguar, with these additional touches put in by Vilner. The Vilner Vito comes with an Alcantara headliner and mahogany details generously dabbed onto the cabin. Sporting Nappa leather seating, additional power outlets, a 19-inch LCD display and a mini-fridge to keep you well-hydrated while you travel, the van also sports alloy wheels and superbly bright bi-xenon headlights.

The Royal Warrant Losing Its Lustre

The Royal Warrant

The Classicist calls it a tempest in a Royal Doulton teacup; read on to find out why. Only three royals are entitled to grant warrants the Queen of England, the Duke of Edinburgh and the Prince of Wales to firms who supply their royal requisites for at least five years, though most warrant holders have ties to Britain’s royal family dating back several decades or more.

Holders of the Royal Warrant include many of our favorite luxury brands Asprey, Aston Martin, Bentley, Barbour, Burberry, Fortnum & Mason, Gieves & Hawkes, Holland & Holland, Hunter Boots, Jaguar, John Lobb, Johnnie Walker, Land Rover, Laphroaig, Lock & Co., Swaine Adeney Brigg, Smythson, Tanqueray and Turnbull & Asser along with a host of lesser names, such as After Eight mints and Jacob’s Cream Crackers. It is the latter two that have now decided to do without their warrants though no insult is intended to the royal family, as it was when former Harrods owner Mohamed al Fayed burned his last year. That coupled with the results of a new survey showing that only 13% of respondents thought that warrants make any difference have called their usefulness into question, the London Guardian reports.

However she also notes that the royals have “failed to manage their brand and their warrants in particular,” noting “their ubiquity may have devalued them”; that modern life is now so busy that people don’t notice such things; and that “the general quality of products is higher than in the past and the mere fact something is stocked by a leading supermarket is endorsement enough of its quality.” We however feel that a Royal Warrant is an inestimably valuable mark of excellence, and that securing it requires firms to maintain the highest standards. Snob appeal aside, the brands favored with royal patronage form a club that many would still give their eyeteeth to get into.

Bremont Unveils Platinum Conceptual Car

Bremont

Bremont made a glittering entry into the Car Clock segment by introducting a mechanical beauty for the Jaguar XJ75 Platinum Concept Car. It was on display at Pebble Beach Concept Car Lawn, California, on August 14. The Car Clock is in the honor of 75th anniversary of the British Jaguar car brand. The folks at Watch Company concede that it’s a matter of great pride for having created something unconventional for Jaguar.

Bremont thought a quartz clock wouldn’t do justice to the occasion so it built a beautiful mechanical clock with a chronograph function. Probably, on popular demand, Bremont might just toss out a wrist watch of the same model for elite Jaguar fans. This is my speculation for as of now, the company doesn’t speaking anything pertaining to this.

The premium brand of Bremont was founded by brothers Nick and Giles English and their watches are usually priced between $2,300 and $6,450.
