British Tourism Agency to Launch Marketing Campaign

Shakespeare's Globe theatre

The tourism agency of Britain is about to launch a comprehensive marketing campaign to persuade more wealthy tourists to spend their cash on luxury holidays or what they are calling Fairytale holidays. Visit Britain will promote three tiers of luxury, gold, platinum and black, to attract the estimated 10 million high net worth individuals with more than $1 million.

Britain has some of the original world renowned luxury experiences and brands. For example Claridge’s, Selfridges and St. Andrew’s are very exclusive and unique experiences that cannot be replicated elsewhere. Visit Britain said it had identified a fashion among the rich for dreamlike or fairytale holidays, and it will draw on the country’s rich history to create packages that would reveal the magical side of Britain.

For those who want to get under the skin of traditional British culture during a luxury break, there is the chance to go backstage at Shakespeare’s Globe theatre in London. The packages would offer an opportunity to the guests to live as a laird in a Scottish castle, blend your own bottle of malt whisky, play golf on prestigious courses and get measured for a kilt.

Accentuate your kitchen with Alchemy’s gold and silver sinks

It is a known fact that the kitchen of the house talks about the people who live in it. You being a luxury lover would always like to adorn your kitchen with precious metals and dazzling polishes. So accentuate your kitchen with Alchemy Glass & Light’s sink. This sink comes in two variants, the first of which is crafted by “fusing real precious metals to the crackled surface of thick crystal clear glass”. Priced between $5000 and $5400, the sinks shine like real diamonds on a rich slick white metal.

Want to opt for something less in cost and dazzle, then go for the 23 carat gold fused on a ¾ inch thick crystal glass sink. Finished a halogen spotlight, this shining sink is priced between $4500 and $4900. Both the sinks are available in 15 inches or 18 inches diameters.

Gold gets Colorful

gold

Gold is that one metal which is no more considered classy and elite. Anyone if given a chance will never opt for gold over the simplest diamond piece. Many of us disregard it for colors and even stones.

Optoelectronics engineers have formulated a technique to make gold of any color by carving tiny shapes onto its surface. As a matter of fact, Gold as metal is actually colorless. It absorbs blue light which gives it the yellow color. With silver, one can have any color whereas copper owes its reddish orange hue to absorption of blue and green light.

Jianfa Zhang at the University of Southampton with her colleagues has incepted an interesting way to carve a different type of repeating pattern on the surface of a metal. The patterns would be smaller than the wavelength of visible light. The properties of the electrons of the metal would thus be altered. The variation in size and depth of these pattern rings will alter the metal’s absorption and reflection of light.

This innovation does hold a key to a plethora of designs and wonders which jewelry folks could do with gold. I wonder how much time it would take to actually see colored gold accessories hitting the retail shelves.
