Sept 26 auction to feature Hitler's furniture and sketches

A very fine piece of German furniture that belonged to Adolf Hitler is being touted to fetch thousands of dollars. This furniture includes a desk, a bookshelf, a table and chairs, manufactured by the former Bavarian court furniture maker, M Ballin.
Talking about the desk in detail, it has a leather writing surface in its centre and a drawer on each side. Each latch bears the name of the Ballin Company, while below the drawers are cupboards and in the left hand one there is an iron plate bolted to the base.
In all, the sale which will also feature 21 watercolors and sketches believed to be Hitler’s work is expect to generate a gross amount of $929,760.
18th century Hookah goes under hammer, fetches $356,700

Hookahs have become a rage yet again. Don’t believe me? Well! there you are-a rare and intact Mughal gilt-decorated glass hookah base by Bonhams fetched a whopping ‚£234,000 ($356,700) at an auction at Bonhams Islamic and Indian Sale. The masterpiece which was touted to be sold for ‚£8,000-‚£12,000 ($12,200 -$18,300) has fetched more than 20 times its pre-sale estimate price.
The 19.5cm tall gilded green glass bowl is prized with a globular body and a short cylindrical neck with a rib.
The history of this Hookah takes us back to (1904-1947), in the house of John Clough its first owner who was an avid collector of Indian furniture and works of art and High Court Judge in Calcutta.

Each Candelier is slightly different and takes about 2 months to put together.
