Louis Vuitton to open hotels in Oman and Egypt

It seems as though Louis Vitton wants to strengthen its presence in the hotel business. We say that because, after having opened its first hotel in France Louis Vuitton is ready to act as operator for the two future hotels in Egypt and Oman.

The LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton (MC.FR) is being said to build on the experience of Group Arnault, LVMH Chairman and Chief Executive Bernard Arnault’s holding company that entered the hospitality market with the famed Cheval Blanc hotel in 2006

For this purpose, Orascom Development Holding – known for the opening of several successful hotels on the Red Sea in Egypt, in the resort of Aqaba in Jordan and the UAE – has signed an agreement with Luis Vuitton that 2012 will see the opening of new hotels in Egypt and Oman.

World’s oldest ship MV Doulos to be made a luxury hotel

The worlds oldest ship (built in 1914), named MV Doulos, is going to be upgraded and converted into a luxury hotel.

This ship which was formerly owned by German Christian charity GBA Ships was used as a floating bookshopbefore being sold to Mr. Eric Saw, Director and Chief Executive of BizNaz Resources International Pte Ltd in Singapore.

According to the ships owner, Mr. Saw,he would invest $5.33 million withthe purpose of refurbishing this old ship and turn its cabins into luxury hotel rooms, restaurants, banquet rooms, a maritime museum and offices.

Previously known as the SS Medina, the SS Roma, and the MV Franca C, this historic shipship has yet again been rechristened as the Doulos Phos, Greek for “servant” and “light”.

Brabus unveiled a 789bhp V12 version of the Mercedes E-class coupe at this year’s Geneva Motor Show.

The BRABUS E V12 Mercedes E Class Coupe has an optimized engine based on the twin turbo V12 found in the latest generation S600 models.

Some other specifications include new front grille, 6.3 liter engine that pumps 800 hp with 1,420 Nm of torque, capable of reaching speeds in excess of 370 km/h, new suspensions, upgraded brakes, appropriately ‘bling’ 19-inch alloy wheels, carbon fibre with carbon panel over the rear wheels and a carbon rear diffuser.

Priced at 478,000 Euros, this supercar also comes with lightweight leather seats and a new ‘sports’ steering wheel.

The new Jaguar XJ – bringing ‘sleek’ back!

Jaguar has unleashed the new Jaguar XJ bringing ‘sleek’ back into the Jaguar vocabulary, all thanks to Jaguar’s director of design, Ian Callum.

The new XJ, which is based around just three horizontal strokes of a pen, uses a lightweight aluminium monocoque structure pioneered under Ford’s stewardship.

The new all-aluminium car is available is available in standard and long-wheelbase versions either with a 3.0-litre, 275bhp V6 diesel engine, a 385bhp 5.0-litre petrol or a 5.0-litre engine with 510 bhp Supersport.

According to Mike O’Driscoll, MD, Jaguar Cars, the new XJ is truly beautiful, exhilarating to drive, and with its bold, enlightened approach to design, it meets the challenges of our fast-changing world. It reimagines the ultimate sporting luxury car.

According to Ian Callum, the new XJ is a thoroughly modern interpretation of the quintessential Jaguar. Its visual impact stems from the elongated teardrop shape of the car’s side windows, that powerful stance and its wide track. It is the most emphatic statement yet of Jaguar’s new design direction.

Prices start at $72,125.

$29.5 Million Legacy 650 – The evolution of travel

Embraer introduced a new business jet ” the large-cabin Legacy 650, at the NBAA Convention last month.

Legacy 650 is actually an upgraded version of its popular Legacy 600 model, with about an extra 600 miles of range. The cabin seats up to 14 passengers.
