New Jaguar limousine will soon be available for the Prime Minister

The high-end version of the new Jaguar limousine which will be made available for the Prime minister very soon is all set to be priced at ‚£200,000 ($326,200). While the average Jaguar limousine will cost over ‚£200,000 ($326,200) the custom-made version will feature special bullet- and bomb-proof security armor, run-flat tires, bulletproof glass and a self-contained oxygen supply.

The car’s highlight is its lightweight body made from 50 percent recycled aluminum and the fuel economy is of up to 40 miles a gallon. The new four-door flagship XJ will also be equipped with an array of gizmos and a big panoramic glass roof.

The gadgets also include a 1,200-watt Bowers & Wilkins hi-fi with 20-speaker surround sound with iPod docking and voice-control for radio, CD, phone and sat-nav along with a high-def TV with dual-view technology on an 8-inch touchscreen.

Supermodel Elle Macherson, who was present on the unveiling of the new luxury XJ revealed that she is herself planning to buy one. The interesting part is that, now it is up to the General Elections to decide who will have this piece of cake- whether it will be Gordon Brown or David Cameron.

According to Jaguar, the new flagship XJ blends elegant, contemporary design with comfort, luxury and sporting style.

Delta Air Lines opens new high-tech luxury lounge at Heathrow

In collaboration between Delta Air Lines and the Air France KLM group, a luxurious lounge has been opened at London’s Heathrow Airport.

FYI: To enjoy this lounge, you will have to travel aboard Delta Air Lines or one of its SkyTeam partners. Also, the lounge is accessible only to all the international first class, business class and SkyTeam Elite Plus passengers.

One of the best options to go green these days is by living in a green home. Clayton Homes, the largest manufacturer of modular homes in the U.S. has come up with the new, eco-friendly Clayton Å”i-house that is being claimed to be at least 30 percent more energy efficient than a traditional home. The Energy Star-rated i-house is known for its contemporary design, solar panels, a rainwater harvesting system, high-end Å”low e windows, a tankless water heater, low-flow faucets, renewable bamboo flooring and a range of other energy-saving features. It is available in two packages – the $74,900, 723-square-foot i-house I, and the $93,300, 1,023-square-foot i-house II.

Newson's Lockheed Lounge chair earns $1.6 m

While Marc Newson’s luxurious Lockheed Lounge chaise was touted to be sold between ‚£500,000 and ‚£700,000 at Christie’s, it managed to sell for 1.1 million pounds ($1.6 million), which is an auction record for a piece of contemporary design art.‚  Used in Madonna video for her 1993 single “Rain”, this metal lounger was the highlight of the 168-lot auction at Phillips de Pury & Company’s London Design sale.
