Hublot Big Bang Ferrari Magic Gold timepiece debuts in Japan

When two big brands join their forces then you can expect nothing short of a larger than life thing. That is exactly what the collaboration of Hublot and Ferrari has resulted in an extravagant timepiece, aptly christened the Big Bang Ferrari! The first offspring of the union of the two greats was unveiled for the first time in Japan at the Ferrari Racing Days Suzuka 2012. Watch connoisseurs and collectors might recall that this timepiece was showcased to the international press last week at Baselworld 2012 in Switzerland. At the extravagant unveiling ceremony which included a dinner party and charity auctions to support Ishinomaki City which was affected by the earthquake in 2011, Hublot donated a Big Bang Ferrari Magic Gold, for auction.

The timepiece successfully fetched $48,980 and the winning bidder being none other than Mr. Biver, CEO Hublot. Unlike the signature Big Bang timepieces, the Big bang Ferrari stands apart both when it comes to design and make. Innovation, performance, technology and exclusivity were the keywords when this timepiece was being crafted. The result is for all to see. The sapphire dial with the Prancing Horse logo catches your attention sitting the 45.5mm measuring case.

Ferrari essence in its design, this timepiece flaunts elongated push buttons, fixed along a rotating axis like the pedals in a car, carbon inserts on the case profile, two interchangeable straps with a highly innovative quick change system, the principle for which was inspired by a seat belt, and features tone on tone stitching like that which is always used on Ferrari upholstery. Hublot has provided the finishing touches to the timepiece by bestowing it with its very own Magic Gold, scratch-resistant 18-carat gold, making it a world first in terms of material.

The Audi A7 offers the best of all antagonists

Audi A7With new-model offerings in the four-door coupe segment from nearly every luxury automaker this year, this relatively new automotive market share appears to be bursting at the seams. Now Audi has decided to throw its hat into the ring with the all-new A7. The Audi A7 really shows other manufacturers how a car like this should be done.

The car is equipped with features like its sleek and sophisticated, fitted with acceptable rear-doors and enough room to fit two grown adults, the A7 also borrows its 3-liter supercharged V-6 engine from the A6, which produces a respectable 300 horsepower and 310 foot-pounds of torque. The A7 also features the same MMI touch system, which combines the car’s high-tech navigation system with an easy-to-use touch pad on the center console. The car also offers Audi’s optional 1,300-watt Bang & Olufsen sound system and a heads-up display”"a first for Audi.

Expect to see this four-door beauty in showrooms early next year with a price tag in the neighborhood of $60,000.

1937 Bugatti sold for $7.92 million

A 1937 model of Bugatti was auctioned at the Gooding & Co.’s auto auction. The car was a part of the collection owned by Dr. Peter and Susan Williamson.

The winner of the bid took away the car at a staggering $7.92 million. The sale also sold out a 1950 Ferrari 166 MM Berlinetta Le Mans for $2.2 million.

John O’Quinn pays $335,000 for Batman Forever Batmobile

Remember John O’Quinn? That Houston Attorney who made a fortune in a multibillion dollar Texas tobacco settlement?

This time he went on to spend $335,000 on a Batmobile used in the film “Batman Forever.” Some other purchases he has made at the auction include a 1938 Cadillac Town Car used by Pope Pius XII which he bought for $250,000, a 1941 Packard limousine used by President Franklin D. Roosevelt for $290,000 and a celebrity-signed 2005 Lamborghini Gallardo for $500,000.

All proceeds from the sale went to benefit those groups which develop educational programs aimed at preventing child abuse, abduction, exploitation and injury.

And don’t miss this one – O’Quinn paid $690,000 at a Kruse auction in Las Vegas last year for a 1975 Ford Escort GL once owned by Pope John Paul II.

2054 model-year car, Lexus on eBay for $88,000

Remember Steven Spielberg’s film “Minority Report”? Or do you atleast remember the luxury auto brand Lexus which featured as the car of the future in the movie?

So yeah, this car was up for sale on eBay at an asking price of $88,000, but alas! It has been sold out.

According to the seller, the 2054 model-year car, which is one of only three made by Lexus, is about the same size as a Chrysler 300 and has only 38 miles on it since it was built. The car boasts a six-cylinder Chevy engine–which is 47,000 miles old–and comes with a manual transmission.

‘Le Mans 24 Heures arcade’ luxury games

A rare 1950s Le Mans 24 Heures arcade game was sold for $3,360. This game which dates back from the early 1950′s, measures 19 inches and can be played only in French.

For those who are disappointed to know that the game has been sold can also avail the Le Mans 24, an arcade game by Sega produced in 1997 and based on the Sega Model 3 Step 1.5 arcade system board.

The game is based on the race of the same name with some of its cars from the 1996 race including those that appeared in Scud Race, henceforth it was licenced by its organisers, Automobile Club de l’Ouest.

Only GT1 and Group C cars make appearances in the game with the JWA Gulf Porsche 917 (a Group 5 racer, under the pre-1972 rule amendment) appearing as a bonus car which is unlocked after finishing the first race.

Jaeger-LeCoultre and Aston Martin have again joined hands to lead to the creation of a priceless timepiece that combines horological expertise as well as automobile performance. Recently the duo announced that they will be launching the exquisite AMVOX5 World Chronograph that too blends the traits of the two great brands. This watch will enable a person to visualize the time in any of the world’s 24 time zone, at any moment.

The attractions of the timepiece include Luminescent white indicators and numerals in the 270‚° display.

The design of the chronograph is inspired by a super car and is powered by a Jaeger-LeCoultre 752 calibre movement. ‚ The AMVOX5 also features a large variable inertia balance, a winding mechanism on lubricant-free ceramic ball bearings and laser-welded balance spring. While the case is made up of high-tech ceramic combined with titanium and 18 carat pink gold, the weight of the intensely black case is much less than steel but still it is very hard which gives this watch its infallible resistance.
