The Burj Dubai is now officially the world’s tallest free standing structure. Founded in 1936, Skidmore, Owings and Merrill LLP is one of the world’s leading architecture, urban design, engineering, and interior architecture firms. The construction of the Burj Dubai has reached the 150th floor level 1,821 feet (555meters) surpassing the height of the CN tower in Toronto, Canada which was previously the world’s tallest free standing building with a height of 1,821feet (553meters) The construction is supposed to be completed in 2008 and the final height of the building is still a secret. Prada rocks the house!

They have proved themselves time and again as being one of the best fashion brands to sport and I guess they are hell-bent on keeping the same standards going; Looking at the way they held one of their extremely happening parties as principle sponsors of one of the participating yacht called Luna Rossa and left no stone unturned to create a buzz at the Central Market which is normally home to a buzzing produce market. On hand they flaunted fashion like food and on the other they flaunted food like fashion. Let me explain, the party housed many stalls which included fruit stalls and delis.

Living in LA…just got better and higher!!

parkfifth.jpg
Like living in LA wasn’t good in itself that we have been given the opportunity of living in one of the tallest skyscrapers of LA but we are most certainly not complaining. What can turn out to be one of the most ambitious projects in downtown, LA is what we have showcased right here. The ambitious project is a $1-billion high-rise condominium complex overlooking Pershing Square park in Downtown Los Angeles. The LA Times reveals the rendering for what will be the tallest residential building west of Chicago. The taller tower is 76 stories and will be one of Los Angeles’s tallest skyscrapers. The shorter tower will be 43 stories. Construction could start as soon as early 2008, and the smaller tower, which will also be home to a 14-story five-star hotel, could be open by 2010. The project’s massive scale (732 condos and 218 hotel rooms) have some Los Angeles real estate watchers clucking nervously but it is hoped that in a few years the real estate market will have recovered and condo hunger will be on the rise again.

A unique view of the Melbourne cityscape via a glass cube

melbourne1111.jpgMelbourne is a cool city to hang out in down under. This garden city is often referred to as the “sporting and cultural capital” of Australia. The best way to enjoy the city view these days is from this specially constructed glass-floored cube that is literally hanging from the side of Melbourne’s tallest building. The Edge at Eureka is a horizontal elevator that serves as an observation deck. It is situated at the 88th floor of the Eureka Tower apartment block in Southbank. It has the capacity to carry 12 people at a time and the ride lasts for about five minutes. Like project director James Cockburn states “It’s a glass box that’s sitting on wheels and we’re rolling it out from the building.” For the faint hearted you can venture out on the Eureka Skydeck 88 observation deck which offers views of Melbourne’s major attractions.

Buying a Luxury home in Mexico – Risks and Alternatives

mexico111.jpg
The recent research done by the Helium Report has gone into the pros and cons of foreigners investing a development or a vacation villa in Mexico. Except for the “restricted zones,” which include all land located within 100 kilometers (about 62 miles) of any Mexican border, and within 50 kilometers (about 31 miles) of any Mexican coastline, foreigners are allowed to own property here. The Mexican government has created “Fideicomiso,” which is a bank-held trust where the foreigners are beneficiaries, to help them make their investments. To facilitate the investment the Mexican bank must be designated as trustee, while the trust beneficiary (the foreign investor) retains all rights of ownership – including renting, bequeathing, selling, or loaning the residence. The Helium Report suggests that its best you appoint a local (Mexican) legal representative to draw up the contract and to review the conditions and terms of sale while crunching the deal for a fully owned vacation property.
