World’s biggest 3D TV is being recently launched by LG at a launch event for new products in Beijing on Tuesday. The 55-inch TV produces vivid and bright images on its organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display. LG showcased various new 3D products, including TVs, monitors and smartphones at the launch. Burberry’s Beijing show

British fashion house Burberry is taking its runway presentations to new heights in Beijing. The fashion-meets-technology extravaganza staged at the Beijing Television Center will feature British band Keane’s first performance in China, “life-like” holograms, and of course lots of coats on lots of top models.
A teaser released on YouTube also states that the event will be a celebration of British weather, which probably means that there will be artificial rain or snow involved, as seen at Burberry”s show during London’s past fashion week.
First International Luxury Club in China

China is the main contributor of growth for the luxury brands. Hence all important global brands are focusing on China to further boost their sales. The authorities in China are also doing their bit to facilitate the growth and make it easier for the global companies to access the markets in China.
The first international luxury club was officially set up recently in Tianjin. It is a port city in northern China which is growing in importance rapidly for business in diverse sectors. The authorities are hoping that this initiative will further enhance the high end business environment of the city. Beijing of course is on way to developing as a fashion centre with increased activity being witnessed by fashion houses from across the world.
Tianjin is working towards growing in importance on the map of the luxury market. The new club is an important and decisive step in that direction. The club will hold its first special sale from Jan. 23 to Jan. 28, and more than 100 top-class international brands, including Cartier and Dior, will debut on the occasion.
Gap Joins the Chinese Sprint

Today China is the fastest growing consumer market in the world. They have had consistent double digit growth over the years and have managed to counter the recessionary pressures through government investments in infrastructure and the resultant growth in their domestic markets and demand. All the global brands and retailers are entering China to cash in on the growing demand.
Gap Inc., one of America’s best known apparel brands has joined the Chinese rush and is opening its flagship store next week. They already have plans for three more large outlets in Shanghai and Beijing, two of China’s wealthiest cities. The company also expects to eventually add its other brands, like Old Navy and Banana Republic. Gap is the latest addition to the long list of global brands with significant presence in China. The investment boom to counter the economic downturn has resulted in scores of new upscale malls and shopping districts.
John Ermatinger, Gap’s President for the Asia Pacific region talked about the target of 25% from international sales the company has set for itself. China will play an important role if the company achieves the target.
Qianlong-dynasty vase sells at record auction price

At the recent Bainbridges’ auction, bidders were competing with highest bids possible to grab the Qianlong-dynasty vase. Finally the vase was sold at a record final price of $83.2 million which surpassed the pre-sales estimate of 1.2 million pounds by 40 times. The winner bidder was Beijing based agent. This exquisite, mid-18th Century vase was designed for the emperor Qianlong and was discovered during a routine house clearance in the suburb of Pinner in London.
