Whitney Houston's Outfits in 'The Bodyguard' on Sale

The auction which will take place from March 31 to April 1 will see the memorabilia of many famous celebrities being sold out to the highest bidder. While one will see Charlie Chaplin’s cane, Clark Gable’s jacket from Gone with the Wind and Charlton Heston’s staff from The Ten Commandments, the spotlight is on the belongings of singer Whitney Houston who recently passed away. Two of her most cherished items, the black dress made in velvet and the sparkling pearl earrings have been included in this luxury auction. To counter all comments against Whitney’s belongings’ auctions, Darren Julien said that he believes that the auction signifies a celebration of her life, something she truly deserves since she lived a life that most would envy. Trying to keep people away from these things only fearing it could offend some is unfair to the lady whose items are now a part of great historic memorabilia. Hence, they deserve to be showcased and spread across to as many people as possible. The floor length black dress which is valued at $1,000 is much likely to be sold for a price steeper than the quoted one. The vest and earrings which are priced at $400 and $600 respectively will also be sold at the same time.

‘Glass House’ up for Auction

all-glass waterfront home in Pasadena, Maryland

An originally listed $7.9million all-glass waterfront home in Pasadena, Maryland, will be auctioned soon. The property’s auctioneer, Concierge Auctions, also announced it will be an absolute-format auction.  So, regardless of the amount of the highest bid at the last tap of the gavel, the distinctive Chesapeake Bay area single-family residence will be sold to the highest bidder.

Real estate broker Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage is working in conjunction with the auctioneer to facilitate the sale of the luxury property that will occur at auction on May 6. Listing agent Betsy Stettinius said that the owner of the property is fully committed to selling and is willing to allow bidders to name the price in return for a guaranteed sale.

The “Glass House” has 9,700 square feet of living space and sits on a 3.51-acre private peninsula. It is located at the end of a private, gated lane and surrounded by a confluence of the Magothy River, the Broad Creek and the Sillery Bay. The exterior of the property also features an outdoor swimming pool and a large patio area.

The big “Glass House” is approximately a 40-minute drive to both Baltimore and Washington D.C. The upcoming auction will be the second visit of the deluxe-property auctioneer to the area. The company managed the auctioning of two luxury properties in Maryland during the summer 2010, according to Laura Brady, VP of Marketing at Concierge Auctions.

Since the sale of this waterfront property is guaranteed, that is, unless absolutely no bids at all are received, this transaction should serve as an indicator of the current value of luxury properties in the Chesapeake Bay area.
