Cartier has long been known for making a variety of lovely creations. 2011 is a year where they really flexed their creative muscles offerings a load of high-end, beautiful jewelry and art watch pieces. You’ll of course notice a distinct “animal” theme in most of these there were a lot of reptiles this year and of course a few panthers as well. The Sun Valley Valentine’s event runs from February 11-15, 2011 and is limited to 16 guests. The event begins with Blinis & Bubblies, caviar, jazz and champagne reception in the Lodge’s elegant Duchin Lounge. You can hit the slopes on Salomon Demo powder skis with “Fresh Tracks” for a day of resort skiing on “Baldy,” the Valley’s legendary Bald Mountain. That evening warm up with Tesauro’s hot toddies in hand and head via private, horse-drawn sleigh to Trail Creek Cabin, a dining hideaway built in 1937.
The next day, get ready for helicopter skiing and enjoy a slope-side luncheon and flight of artisanal cheeses and charcuterie. Back at the Lodge, après-ski massages and spa services plus ice skating and snowshoe dancing are available during an evening to you followed by pool-side Porto for in a glass-enclosed, 102-degree hot pool.
Valentine’s Day begins with more heli-skiing, mountainside lunch, and a second tour of regional cheeses and charcuterie. Royal Collection Memorial China for Prince William’s Wedding

The Royal Collection china created in honor of their wedding which is to be held on April 29, 2011 has been launched for sale. The Royal couple has approved the handmade English fine bone china collection which has been designed specifically to highlight the occasion and made with the highest level of craftsmanship and skill.
The Royal Collection has been made in Stoke-on-Trent through traditional methods that have remained unchanged for the last 250 years or more. Gold and platinum are used to create a layer on each piece before a final layer of gilding in 22ct gold is applied by hand. Gold and silver decorations are made on every piece. The letters “C’ and “W’ are entwined, the coronet of Prince William is depicted on top and the date of the wedding is mentioned boldly.
Each piece comes in a presentation box and wrapped in white tissue-paper printed with designs inspired by the wall hangings in Clarence House. The collection includes a tankard, eight-inch plate and pill box.

Edition Hotels

The luxury boutique brand combines the personal, intimate, individualized and unique lodging experience that Ian Schrager and capitalize on the global reach, operational expertise and scale of Marriott. In its pursuit to become more globally accessible, Marriott announced that Edition will soon rein the elite hospitality shores of London.
The London destination is preceded by their first launch in Hawaii just few weeks ago. The location will be the former Berners Hotel, a converted residence in London’s Fitzrovia media district. Ian Schrager will look after a complete redevelopment of the building. Great location and beautiful were some of the winning points of this location which the Marriot President believes to be “perfect canvas for creating a true work of art.”
The folks at Edition Hotels are simply following the pursuit of being present in all the exciting locations all over the world. Their first property in Hawaii has received bucket loads of positive reviews which serve as impetus for their compulsive expansion. Also the Istanbul property’s opening date has been pushed to the first half of 2011.
Picasso Revisits Switzerland
One of the highlights of the Kunsthaus Zurich museum’s centenary year is “Picasso” (October 15, 2010″”January 31, 2011), an homage to the museum’s groundbreaking 1932 Picasso exhibition, which was the first retrospective of the controversial Spanish artist’s work.
With an impressive art collection of its own, the Dolder Grand is the five-star hotel partnering with Zurich Tourism to offer special rates starting at about $520 per night including breakfast and admission to the exhibit.
The Art Deco”"era show was particularly fascinating because of its curator: Pablo Picasso. Hainan RendezVous 2011 to be A Grand Event

The inaugural event Hainan Rendez-Vous 2010 has motivated the organizers to work hard and plan for the second edition of the successful event. The dates have been set for the second spectacular edition of Hainan Rendez-Vous, with a massive increase expected of visitors and exhibitors alike.
The second edition will be held from April 1 to 4, 2011. It is Asia’s first and only exhibition dedicated exclusively to business jets, large yachts and luxury lifestyle. The organizers are determined to build on the stellar success of the inaugural event which showcased 12 business jet brands, over 60 yachts ranging from 40 to 100 feet, and a number of high-end watch marquees, jeweler brands and fashion labels. The sale completed during the event was worth $90 million.
The Hainan Province officials were also very optimistic about the future as the event had brought with it many breakthroughs and opportunities for the development of tourism on the island. The event brought together the Chinese and Western cultures and the venue made it into a world class event.It presented to the world the future of China’s luxury market.
