Flying Saucer Home

Flying Saucer Home for Sale

Built in 1970, this flying saucer shaped home is going on the auction block this Saturday.  For the right price you can purchase this circular home which resembles an alien craft, complete with landing gear and an entrance staircase that retracts with the push of a button.  This unique home, located in Chattanooga Tennessee, consists of multiple levels and has three bedrooms and two baths.

Terry Posey, an agent with Crye-Leike Auctions of Cleveland, Tennessee, said the current owner has had the property only four months and didn’t want to comment. Posey posted an e-Bay ad and said he already has a $100,000 bid.

Although, the design is really eyecatching, buyers beware.  Not alot of furniture is designed for circular rooms, so decorating it might be quite a challenge.

The $221 Million Apartment

A Ukrainian business tycon by the name of Rinat Akhmetov, he is also the richest man in Ukraine. His networth is $16 billion so I suppose a $221 million dollar apartment is just pocket change. The $25,000 sq ft apartment is a three story penthouse located in London in the area of One Hyde Park. The apartment was bought bare and the buyer spent about $97.6 million in renovating. What I find a little strange about this transaction is that the purchase happened back in 2007, but for some reason didn’t close till about a week ago. The buyer will host the 2012 World Cup in his country at a stadium he built for $400 million stadium in his hometown of Donetsk.
