Largest Natural Sapphire is on sale in the U.S.
Sapphire, the birthstone of people born in the month of September is also popularly known as the “Stone of Prosperity’. Occurring in a range of colors, the most popular of the sapphires are the famous blue sapphires that have been adorned by royalty- (Princess Diana was engaged with a magnificent natural blue sapphire ring)! If your reserves are at par then you too can pamper yourself to the largest natural blue sapphire in the United States. This stone was cut from a 129 carat rough which was found in Sri Lanka in 1952. It was originally cut into an 80-carat stone and sold. Now it has been cut down to 69.53 carats in an effort to improve the light and color reflection and create a better shape.
100 million yen diamond-decorated mobile phone strap
A 100 million yen ($850,000) diamond-decorated mobile phone strap designed by famous Japanese jewelers Diaddict is displayed for New Year sales at the Nihombashi department store of Takashimaya Co. on January 2, 2007. The expensive, one of a kind strap for mobile phones is decorated with a 6.02-carat yellow diamond, a 0.61-carat blue diamond, a 0.36-carat pinkish diamond and a total of 2.10 carat in colorless diamonds. Many shoppers stopped to admire the beautiful diamond decorated strap. Takashimaya Co., Ltd was founded in 1829 in Kyoto by Iida Shinshichi as a retailer of used clothing and cotton cloth, the store now has outlets throughout Japan and also in New York, Taipei, Paris and Singapore.

Hello Kitty set for 18.9 million Yen from Sanrio
Sanrio Co Japan will put on sale a platinum Hello Kitty figure with seven jeweled pendants for 18.9 million yen at the flagship department store of Mitsukoshi Ltd in Tokyo’s Nihombashi district. Sanrio will offer only one set from Tuesday.
