So to find out which one is for you, here are some of the best ones to visit. SKI Magazine is just out with its annual “Top 50 Resort Guide,” which names Deer Valley, Utah, as the No. 1 ski resort in North America. This same Deer Valley was No. 2 in last year’s survey, and has won first place three times in the survey’s 20-year history. Other Utah resorts that were No. 1 in various categories included Snowbird, voted “Best Skier’s Mountain,” and Alta, voted top “Weekend Escape.” Colorado had six resorts in the overall top 10 list, more than any other state. Vail was No. 2, after Deer Valley. Whistler Blackcomb, in British Columbia, Canada, was third on the list, followed by Aspen and Snowmass, both in Colorado; Park City, Utah; Breckenridge, Beaver Creek and Steamboat, Colo., and in the No. 10 spot, Sun Valley Idaho.

The investors, Hyundai Asan plan to pump in $3 billion to the venture. Hyundai Asan is the North Korean business arm of the South Korean Hyundai Group. The area to be developed starts from the North’s eastern port city of Wonsan to Haegeumgang near Mt. Geumgang, where the company built a mountain resort in 1998. They have proved themselves time and again as being one of the best fashion brands to sport and I guess they are hell-bent on keeping the same standards going; Looking at the way they held one of their extremely happening parties as principle sponsors of one of the participating yacht called Luna Rossa and left no stone unturned to create a buzz at the Central Market which is normally home to a buzzing produce market. On hand they flaunted fashion like food and on the other they flaunted food like fashion. Let me explain, the party housed many stalls which included fruit stalls and delis.

These four countries alone add up to 101 billionaires from the global number of 946. In the top twenty countdowns only five Americans were ranked in out of three were Indians. The top brass include the likes of Lakshmi N. Mittal (the London-based steel magnate) is the richest Asian and the world’s fifth-wealthiest with a net worth estimated at US$32 billion. Hong Kong-based business tycoon Li Ka-shing is Asia’s second-wealthiest individual and ninth overall with net worth of US$23 billion.

New York draws a whopping 44 million tourists in 2006

timessquare2000educa.jpg
Be a part of a record in the making as totter through the holiday hordes in Times Square between Christmas and New Year’s. The total surpassed the city’s projection by a million, said a statement released by the office of Mayor Michael Bloomberg. Visitors in 2006 included seven million from other countries, according to NYC & Co., which promotes and markets New York attractions. The international visitors included 1.2 million from Britain. Tourism is said to support nearly 350,000 jobs and generate $24 billion annually for New York, which is why Bloomberg is pushing to attract millions more tourists.

International tourists are drawn to the United States because the weak dollar makes for shopping and entertainment bargains. In particular, there has been a surge in visitors from Ireland, Spain, Italy and the United Kingdom. But U.S. Travel and Tourism Advisory Board feel that more should be done to woo them and other foreign travelers.
