This is so true for The Oprah Winfrey Talk Show. With heavy hearts fans will bid adieu to the show on May 25th. The Queen of day-time talk show is commanding a cool $1 million for a 30-second advertising spot on her show. This will be an unprecedented record for day-time TV. Winfrey’s farewell show is touted as being “the event” of the year. Given the show’s popularity, there is no doubt she will have any trouble finding advertisers who are willing to shell out $1 million.

Oprah has definitely saved the best for the last! Her ultimate fans were floored during part two of her annual “Ultimate Favorite Things” episode where she unveiled her 40 favorite things. True to her style, there’s no shortage of luxurious goodies, which included a Limited Edition 25th Anniversary “Oprah” Watch by Philip Stein. At $2,475, this limited-edition watch has 58 hand-set diamonds and keeps track of two different time zones represented by two Os on the face, in honor of Oprah. To commemorate her 25th season, the 2 and the 5 on each watch is a shimmery silver color, standing out against the rest of the sleek, black numbers.

This could be the best combination ever of two of the world’s most powerful women. Oprah Winfrey, the chat show host recently flaunted Victoria Beckham’s creation which was a stunning nude dress. Complementing Oprah’s curvaceous body, Victoria’s A/W 2010 collection promised to preach the curve of women beautifully. Oprah wore this dress at Maria Shriver’s Women’s Conference in Long Beach, California. Oprah looked elegant as she walked on to stage to collect the Minerva Award, which pays tribute to women ‘who serve on the front-lines of humanity’.

Michael Jackson, the legendary pop singer, will always be loved and remembered for what he was. The Thriller star, died with a huge debt in his name and never made it to Forbes’ annual Celebrity 100 list when alive. But now when he’s left for heavenly abode, he has become the biggest earner of the year, second to Oprah Winfrey. MJ topped the list of the 10th annual ranking of the Top-Earning Dead Celebrities with gross earnings of $275 million. The income comes from his Sony/ATV catalog, the hit documentary “This Is It’, and the interest that was brought back to his music, videos, his belongings and the person himself after he died.
Oprah tops Forbes’ magazine’s 2010 Celebrity power list yet again
Yey Oprah! The television queen has retained her throne as the top ranker in Forbes’ magazine’s 2010 Celebrity power list. And it seems that it is girl power all the way this year, as three out of the top five slots have been taken by women. Lady Gaga has danced and sung her way into this list as well with an earning of $62 million. I am sure half of it goes into her costumes and makeup.
Oprah Winfrey made an approximate $315 million this year, making it her fourth consecutive numero uno on this list. The voluptuous R&B singer Beyonce came second with an estimated earning of $87 million that came from her album sales, tours, endorsements and fashion deals combined. The lovely Angelina Jolie was pushed to the 18th rank this year. But director James Cameron came back with a bang on this list after a long time, and took the 3rd spot. Thanks to his massive hit Avatar, which made $2.7 billion!
Oprah gets a Global Express XRS
A $50 million mansion with 6 bedrooms and 14 bathrooms spread over 42 acres, a massive home theater, a man-made lake with rare fish and having Montecito sandstone bricks hand-laid in the quarter-mile long driveway if this much luxury wasn’t enough for Oprah she chose to go shopping, and what did she buy … a luxury plane! Now she definitely needs a private jet for herself as she resides in California and works in Chicago. It has been reported that she will soon receive a custom-built Global Express XRS from Bombardier Aerospace. The $47-million executive jet has seating for 10 passengers and has a leather interior with designer fixtures for the bathroom and galley. There is an aft stateroom for naps as well as a crew rest area and of course a large main cabin with every amenity Oprah could possibly require.
