The Asia Top Gallery Hotel Art Fair

The Asia Top Gallery Hotel Art Fair (AHAF) gets 70 of Asia’s premier art galleries to come with their best art pieces to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Hong Kong. The location was one of the best hotels in Hong Kong but it was definitely not one of those Champagne and caviar events. For a lot of the visitors it was their first art event. Some of them had never visited an art gallery before. The ambience and the experience were luxurious but the art pieces and prices were pitched towards new collectors.
The participating Korean artists were excited about the rising popularity of Korean art in Hong Kong and the surrounding Asian region. They attribute the trend to good quality and low prices. For the participating galleries too the event was the right platform to know each other and exchange information and ideas. For the first time, this year, the event got groups from Japan, South Korea and Taiwan on a guided tour. There were lectures organized by guest art specialists.
