Tumi creates custom travel cases for LFA Sports Cars

Lexus and luxury luggage company Tumi have come together to create a premium line of travel luggage for the new 2012 Lexus LFA supercar worth $375,000.

Designed to complement the look and the feel of the vehicle, the travel cases will be available in selected markets, including the U.S. and Europe. Each bag will wear the corresponding vehicle’s identification number (VIN). The cases are built from aluminum and carbon fiber-like material, with special sizes that allow them to be placed in the car’s luggage compartment. Each suitcase has an asymmetrical retractable handle and shoulder strap as well as non-skid feet to hold the luggage in place while the car is in motion.

According to Dave Nordstrom, Lexus vice president of marketing, The LFA’s unparalleled, hand-built quality dovetails with Tumi’s dedication to creating excellence. The custom luggage enhances the LFA experience and demonstrates Lexus’ dedication to making each encounter with the brand memorable.

Lexus plans to produce 500 units of the car worldwide with 20 cars coming out of the assembly line every month.
