Italian design company Pininfarina has collaborated with Swiss watchmaker Bovet to design a highly exclusive tourbillon – The Bovet Ottana.
Incorporating the complex movement you’d expect from the name, the timepiece also features a large date indicator, 80-hour power reserve meter and minute repeater, all incorporated into the brass-crafted, 514-piece Calibre 16BA01 movement.
Eight emblematic phrases each reflecting one decade of the brand’s existence and signed by Mr. Paolo Pininfarina himself have been engraved around the middle of the case. The dial has a brass flange with an anthracite color finish and a rock crystal lower plate revealing not only the movement but also the power reserve hand.
Limited to only 80 pieces – to commemorate 80 years of Pininfarina – the Bovet Ottana tourbillon integrates a skeletonized case which can be mounted facing forward or backward to display the intricate movement, with a secondary time indicator on the reverse, or can be separated from the suede-like calfskin strap to be worn as a wristwatch or combined with a titanium chain (also exclusively designed) for use as a pocket watch or used as a desk clock. In short, this hi-tech aesthetically pleasing Tourbillon combines four watches in one. Awesome, isn’t it!
With a price tag approaching $300,000, the Bovet Ottana is available in either DLC-coated steel and titanium or titanium with rose or white gold detail.
